Career change question

Hi guys, I'm new on this subreddit, but I'm not new to the trade. This is my 10th year in the trade. Been a Jman for several years now.

I have an opportunity to work in the industrial/process refrigeration sector through the union hall doing most likely ammonia chiller. It's not a path i would normally choose. Lack of work force me to explore this. I'm normally more restaurant and commercial HVAC type of guys.

I have zero experience with ammonia. Always been scared of it since ammonia is dangerous stuffs. Would the ammonia guys here give me some insight what's it's like to work with ammonia?

TIA.
