Most of my career since 1985 has been with air conditioning. I have have been working for a school district since 2009 and I do low temp calls. We have several Brands primarily Beverage Air and some old Hobart. My question is when I run into these Frozen evaporators, I always check the defrost heater nine times out of 10 if not more is always works when I Advance the manual timer. I always make sure the evaporator fans shut off, I checked the door gaskets to make sure there's nothing wrong with them. I set the defrost to go 4 times a day 6 hour intervals. I have two that have Frozen up within a month or so I'm going to double-check the charges but they have no problem pulling down to 0 degrees and they do cycle off. I always make sure there is an off-cycle. I did have one reach-in a year ago different one that I did have to ask some refrigerant even though it would pull down to zero. It was just a little low and it would start icing up more than it should have during it's on cycle. So I'm just going to throw it out here I don't know if there's anything else I am missing. Figured I'd ask some fellas in here figuring you have a lot more experience on reach-in freezers than I do. Don't know if I'm missing something sometimes these are a pain in the butt I'll defrost them and they'll go on for quite a while sometimes a year or two then other times just a month or two. Anything you think I am skipping your input would be appreciated
