UK: Panasonic is adding its nanoe X air cleaning technology to its PACi and VRF ranges of air conditioners.
The nanoe X generators clean and deodorise the air by producing nano-sized hydroxyl radicals (also known as OH radicals). These have been shown to inhibit the growth of certain pollutants such as allergens, bacteria, viruses, moulds, odours and certain hazardous substances, by breaking them down and inhibiting the unpleasant effects.
By creating hydroxyl radicals enveloped by water, nanoe X technology is said to significantly boost their effectiveness, increasing hydroxyl radicals’ lifetime from less than a second in nature, to more than 10 minutes indoors.
Another benefit is that the hydroxyl radicals enveloped in water, generated by nanoe X, can reach every corner of a space and its surfaces and can spread over large areas.
The technology comes as standard in Panasonic’s residential Etherea air conditioning range and the floor console units, and is now expanding availability to its PACi and VRF commercial range, including the 90×90 cassette, new duct units and floor console units over the coming months.
Said to be maintenance free and made with titanium, the first nanoe device was developed by Panasonic in 2003 and has been radically improved since. The effectiveness of nanoe X technology is said to have been independently verified and tested by international third-party laboratories in Germany, Denmark, Malaysia and Japan.
