I recently noticed that the ice in the ice maker on my fridge would periodically semi melt and all stick together. After that I added a temperature sensor to my freezer to monitor and it seems that the freezer temperature goes up to ~40F every ~21hrs during the defrost cycle (normal operating temp is 0F to 5F). The defrost cycle lasts about 15mins or so which I believe is normal.
Is the freezer temperature too high during the defrost cycle and if so what could be the cause of this?
P.S. I tried googling for the normal temperature during the defrost cycle but nothing I found was consistent across different information sources.
