Hi All,
First off, I want to say I am not that handy of a individual and have never worked on anything related to the fridge. I will try my best to explain the events and see if anyone can help me.
I changed my water filter in the back right of my fridge because water wasn't coming out and someone suggested changing the water filter so see if that helped. I switched the water filter. When I took off the water filter that was there it was a simple process, small leak of water but once the line was clear the water stopped. I put on the new filter and unfortunately nothing changed in the line. HOWEVER, this is where I'm stumped and don't want to break anything. I took the new water filter off and that thing came off like a cannon. Super high pressure build up and a massive pop noise. I have put that filter back on a few times and same thing. To test if it was the filter I put the old filter on and sure enough it built up pressure too. I have turned the water off each time I did. I don't know why there is a pressure buildup and where to look to fix this.
As stated I am not knowledgeable with how a fridge works; other than the thermodynamic theory behind it.
Any help is appreciated!
