My shop is now on its 4th refrigerator within a year and we are beginning to wonder if it’s something to do with the fridge being used to store maggots for fishing bait. Maggots give off an ammonia smell, could this cause the copper pipes to corrode so quickly, or are we being sold bad refrigerators?
The most recent refrigerator unit lasted about 2 days then started dripping blue dye down the back from the big fan at the top, so we got it replaced, only for the replacement to do the same. We were told it was due to turning it on too soon after installing, but the second unit was upright for 24 hours before putting it on. The fridge worked ok so we didn’t see an issue but there was still streaks of blue dye from the fan at the top. 3 months later and it’s packed in again. The company are now blaming us but I think we have been sold poor quality units. We are supposed to be getting our money back for the latest unit and will be looking to purchase a new unit ASAP.
My gut is telling me that we have been sold refurbed and poor quality units, and after looking at google reviews, people have had the same problems with units breaking after a few months.
Can anyone advise what kind of fridge is best for this kind of application? I’ve attacked a link of the refrigerator that we currently have. current faulty unit
