Need some help with refrigerant recharge

Hello, I am attempting to check the pressure on a Julabo F1000 lab chiller. It uses R-134a, has a 1/4" NRP recharge port.

I was told by tech support that a standard recharge hose would do the trick, and the one I acquired did thread onto the port, but didn't depress the Schrader valve, so all I ended up doing was pressurizing the hose and failing to add any refrigerant. Can someone recommend me a recharge hose that will work on this 1/4" NRP port?
