My (now deceased) dad was a refrigeration tech for decades and, of course, used an old fridge and an upright freezer in his woodshop as storage cabinets (why not, right? they're purpose made for storing things!). I know he owned the equipment and had the experience of removing freon from appliances prior to their disposal. Since these were never going to be used as cold storage again, I think he mentioned that he'd removed the refrigerant from them.
Is there a way that I (without said experience or tools) can tell, and prove to the waste company, that the freon is no longer there?
