Just looking for a sanity check. Don't do much refrigeration
So we've frankensteined a 5ton r22 refrigeration unit with two 50' 1/2" cooling loops in a 55 gal drum of glycol using a txv. Customer plans to add a pump to circulate the glycol to his brewing equipment but it is not yet installed.
70° ambient, 70° glycol. Charged to 15° subcool 5° superheat. low side sitting at 25, high side 165. 5° Suction line temp, 73° liquid line temp. sight glass running clear, suction side iced up. We cooled the glycol 70-40F in an hour or two.
Is this going to work for our customer? We plan to check numbers again when he has a load on the brewing equipment.
