Work Life balance at the start.

Doing a lot of searching into doing something else other than my current $25/hr factory job. I'm looking for a career now and not interested in moving up the management chain. Refrigeration (I guess trades in general) has caught my eye. Mainly for the money.

0 experience, starting from scratch. Already 33 YO, with sore back and feet at the end of most days. 1 year old at home and our second on the way this summer. New build home to be finished at the end of the year as well (taking on mortgage). But there's no time like the present right??

Anyway I'm just looking for some advice or discussion about the work life balance at the start. I know it will be busy/demanding. Any insights on how fast would I be able to work my way up to my current wage?

Or if anyone is in the same boat any tips for efficiency.

Thanks.
