Our fridge is making an intermittent loud hum, sometimes it stops for days and happens again. More worrisome is the chemically smell when the doors are opened and even if not opened recently it smells in the immediate vicinity. Also making our water pitcher taste bad (obviously stopped drinking it). I've been told to just replace the fridge, which is doable but right now I'm looking at 3-4 weeks shipping and replacement. If its a coolant leak or something similar is that dangerous to be breathing or eating the food out of, etc? I imagine this fridge is 15 years old, though not sure. Thanks for any help everyone!
