hi all, I hope this is the right place to post this.... many apologies if it isn't
in my 'mancave'/office I have a small 'Husky' Drinks cooler/fridge, which is a godsend to use in the summer (and now)
Problem is that when i have it on, when its compressor kicks in or turns off, it is causing other things in my room to effectivly crap themselves. My monitor turns off and on again. My AV receiver (or my projector... not sure which one it is yet) just starts to output static instead of whatever input it was outputting to start with.
I tried to run everything on surge protectors, but alas that didn't make a difference.
The only thing I can think off is to run the fridge off of a timed socket (either traditional or smart one) and have it off for a couple of hours at a time or something.
So my question really is, is it going to be hugely inefficient to turn on/off every few hours. would there be a way of working out the optimal on/off cadence? Obviously I don't want cold drinks in there all of the time (cans and jug of filter water is whats in it) which i'll be drinking during the day.
For example its been off for about 4 hours now i think and the internal temp has gone from about 7.5 degrees centigrade to currently 17. Although the jug of water still seems reasonablly cool. But i'm guessing its going to probably be inefficient to turn it on again to get it from 17 back down to 7.
Any advice (other than ditch the cooler), much appriciated.
