Lidl to expand Mullingar distribution centre

IRELAND: Lidl Ireland is to invest €75m in the expansion of its Mullingar distribution centre at Robinstown, Co Westmeath.

The new 15,000m² extension will incorporate the largest solar array of Lidl’s properties in Ireland, providing enough energy to meet approximately 25% of the plant’s energy requirements. 

The project includes 25,000m² of new cold rooms cooled by “natural refrigerants”, with heat recovery providing heating to the warehouse.
