What career path do you take after service? As in, not wanting to hit the field and not owning a company?

Just a question. I just wonder what path i should look to take a few more years down the line. Say in 5 years making $30-$35/hr, is there a direction you go where you make relatively the same money with obvious advancement? I feel like working for a manufacturer or supply house you won’t make as much money unless commission is involved. Thanks in advance for your input
