Swegon invests in indoor environment software company

SWEDEN: Gothenburg-based HVAC manufacturer Swegon is to acquire a majority shareholding in 720°, a Finnish company with a cloud based analytics solution for indoor environmental quality monitoring.

The analytical software offered by 720º monitors, visualises and predicts the indoor climate in buildings.

Swegon Group CEO Andreas Örje Wellstam said the deal would put Swegon in a unique position as full service providers of indoor climate solutions. “We will together with 720° not only visualise the indoor climate, but also provide suggestions of how to improve the environment in a building,” he said.

“The indoor environment has in the past year become increasingly important and more and more people are becoming aware of the effect that it has on our health and productivity. Since the indoor environment is invisible and complex, we want to be able to provide property owners, tenants and other building users with clear insights and suggestions on their indoor environment.”

720° was founded in 2012 and has eight employees with the head office in Helsinki. The company currently has their offering in place at over 200 buildings, mainly in Finland.

The investment is expected to be completed in August.
