So I recently had to change our 2 expansion valves for 2 cases on the same circuit. I used the same tonnage as the older ones. Now I am having major issues getting the super heat correct. The super heat is too high but still freezing the case up. It is med temp with 32° setpoint but it rarely gets down that low. One case is running 12° SH and the other is running 17° and both are still freezing up the coil. I checked the defrost settings and it all checked out. I raised the defrost termination from 46 to 48° to see if that helps and will check in the morning but I doubt it will....
I'm not very experienced with adjusting superheat so it's really frustrating when I have to deal with it.
