I know it's running fairly high compressor superheat but I dont have any numbers, so consider this more hypothetical. So I've got a single compressor freezer condencer with a copeland 4r. Box temp is around -5⁰F, 100⁰F Ambient. I wasn't there to work on this system so any time I spent on it I wasn't getting paid, hence the reason I don't have exact numbers. The motor barrel on the compressor was warm, crankcase was hot and the suction line was cool, but not cold. The oil was extremely foamy and the sight glass was green with uv dye. What could cause oil foaming this bad without having any flood back? This system didn't have this issue last year. It started shortly after I fixed a large liquid line leak and changed the driers. I did note a cup or so of oil spilling from the liquid line when I pulled the old drier core. Also, I checked the crank heater, it works.
