Need a Dixell guru to explain to me why I shouldn't rip this shit out and kick it behind the cold room (CX660)

Servicing a new install from a different company. Evaporator is a block of ice. Defrost cycle stops after ~2min. I assume wrong or bad defrost sensor, but here's where the fun starts. First of all: can't find the manual for this piece of shit. Manual for XM670 has most of the same parameters, but none of which show me the readings of the sensors! Am I the idiot or is this thing dogshit?
