USA: Refrigerant manufacturer Chemours has announced a new plant dedicated to the production of the non-flammable, low GWP HFO 1336mzz(E).
The new plant located in El Dorado, Arkansas, is expected to come online before January 1.
Marketed by Chemours as Opteon 1150, HFO-1336mzzE is primarily used as a foam blowing agent but has also been developed as a refrigerant blend component, as well as a single component solution in low pressure chiller and high temperature heat pumps.
“This technology will be critical across multiple industries to comply with global regulations to transition to low GWP technology while maintaining the high performance our customers are accustomed to from Chemours,” said Alisha Bellezza, Chemours’ president of thermal & specialised solutions at Chemours.
