conditions required to freeze fresh food

hello!

first, sorry that this post is in the wrong sub; this doesn't specifically relate to commercial or industrial refrigeration as such.. but i'm hoping the knowledge can be applied here also

i just purchased a fridge freezer, and the freezer is a three-star compartment. in the manual it states

"One-, two- and three-star compartments are not suitable for the freezing of fresh food." (only pre-frozen)

the thing is, nowhere in the store where i purchased, is this mentioned, and i imagine there are millions of people using three-star freezers to freeze fresh food.

i just wondered if someone can share some knowledge here?

is it dangerous if i go and buy a load of steaks and freeze them in this three-star freezer? what exactly is the risk? or is just more silly legislation?

thanks!
