What actually happens to a compressor if it operates with a low condensing temperature (outside the operating envelope) for too long?
I am a lowly design engineer so my understanding is pretty much limited to “don’t design a system that will operate outside the compressor envelope and “low head pressure kills compressors”.
Can someone explain to me how the low head pressure leads to compressor failure and what that looks like?
For reference I mostly work with scroll compressors
