I worked commercial hvac/refrigeration for about a year (gleaned SOME install and service knowledge and tools) and now have transitioned away to growing vegetables on an urban lot and delivering to customers. I have a box trailer I want to build out as a walk-in. In this field, folks are using window units with a CoolBot to adjust refrigerant flow digitally.
Im wondering if this is my best/most economical option.
Could I potentially find and install a used small walk-in unit cheaply?
Could I get a window unit and install a TXV and manually adjust refrigerant flow?
I see on top of refrigerated sprinter vans the Carrier rooftop reefer units, but don’t know much about them.
How would you do this build out with limited funding? Probably have about 2-3k to spend on the conversion.
