I've got an older Hill Phoenix med temp coffin case that's dropping product too cold and freezing product.
We weren't able to get the case opened up since it's Valentine's day and the store was packed, so we tried to find whatever we could for now. Sensor checks out good, even if its in a shit spot. There's no solenoid valves to/from case. On the main E2 controller there's not really anything we can find that controls refrigerant flow to the case, but based on the schedule it's got a Sporlan Suction Stepper Valve, and what looks like is happening is that the valve is opening really fast as it should, but taking it's sweet ass time closing.
For instance, in defrost the temp spikes as it should, then plummets after the cycle, but then slowly climbs back up to set point. My thermometer in the case was reading good in defrost, then went down to about -7, and took a pretty long time to climb back up to 29.
Just wondering if there's anything else we should check. Forgive me if it's a dumb question, I'm still pretty green. TIA!
