Is running a 30+ year old freezer worth it?

I plugged in a gigantic freezer in my garage. It's called a 'True Cold 525' and is at least 30 years old.

I'm hoping to use it as a storage space for perishable foods. Say storing 100 lbs of chicken long-term for emergency situations.

Will it just die on me eventually?

Edit: I plugged it in an hour ago and it's starting to produce coldness. I'm testing it right now to see if it can freeze a water bottle

  1. We have one of these freezers that was my wife's parents that was purchased in the late 50's. The plastic spacers for the metal dividers are failing and I cut out the wiring for the interior light maybe 20 years ago as it was failing. Some of the gasket is bad but it keeps working. I checked the energy consumption a few years ago and it was perhaps a third higher than a new unit. No reason to replace.
