Having trouble finding someone to sponsor me (Southern Ontario)

I’ve been with my current employer for about 2 years now and I did my G2 over the summer at HiMark. Current job has been stringing me along about an apprenticeship for about a year now, but they just offered me a 313D. I don’t really have anything going for me so I think I should take it, but I don’t want to be stuck doing residential forever. Honestly, I would work for minimum wage as long as I was building hours towards a 313a. Has anyone else in the area had any luck getting a company to sponsor you? I’ve cold-called and applied to all of the commercial HVAC companies within 60km of my house. I’ve got a few views on my resume, but no responses.

Past few years I’ve been a water heater tech + I did a bit of residential hvac install, but that’s as far as my experience goes.

If anyone has any advice for this time of year, it would be greatly appreciated. Hey, even if you want me to come work for you for free so you can test me out, I’d be willing to. I’m a hard worker and I don’t complain, have all my own tools etc. I’ll work 20 hour days if need be.

Just getting a little discouraged with the job market.
