Hello, I’m designing a ice cream machine and I have some questions about refrigeration. I have a 1HP compressor from a old fridge that use to work 10 out of 10 when it was disassembled because of serious cabinet issues, the label on the compressor says that it should be used with R12 refrigerant but I was planning to use R134a since is cheaper, ecological and based on my investigation gets to lower temperatures my question is that if I use R134a refrigerant is going to make a problem. Another problem that I have is what size and length the capillary tube needs to be for optimal work. I’m planning to use 5/16 cooper tubing for the evaporator.
