Fan current question.

Fan current question.

Called to an evaporator fan trip on site while doing some maintenance. According to the wiring diagrams the fans should pull 1.7Amps, this one was pulling 2.8Amps and the overload is rated from 1.6‐2.5 Amps... The room was a freezer extension at -21°c and is now production at +9°c. Customer believes its because of the chance in temperature of the room and the weather getting warmer.... I asked to see the evaps to see if there was anything obvious. They've now fitted air socks to the evaps like these... ( https://images.app.goo.gl/eqat9krk8Xj7j3gX6 ) The evaps in question are twin fan but similar style socks.

3 phase fans in the UK.

My question is, am I right in thinking that the added resistance from the air sock will increase the current on the fans?
