Not sure of what trade to get in.

I have a restaurant refrigeration cooler that has a water cooling valve that is stuck open. Water running to drain 24 hours a day.

This valve seems to be tied into the refrigeration lines to control its operation.

Is the capillary line that controls this water valve tied into the refrigerant? Or is it just pressure expansion that opens and closes the water valve once the unit fires up and calls for cooling?

As in....does the unit need the refrigerant removed to disconnect the capillary line to allow the replacement of the water valve. If not then my plumber could do it. If so then obviously a refrigeration tech needs to do the swap.

Thanks
